On 3 December 2025, the global fight against transnational crime convenes online for the sixth edition of the 24-hour Conference on Global Organized Crime (OC24). This streamlined, 16-hour event remains a premier forum for uniting the world’s leading researchers, journalists, and frontline practitioners to dissect the most pressing threats from global criminal networks.
This year’s lineup features over 100 speakers from 55 countries, ensuring a truly diverse and comprehensive dialogue. Among them, we are proud to highlight the participation of Manoel Gehrke (University of Pisa) in the session “Prosecutors and specialized policies against organized crime and corruption: A comparative approach between Brazil, Europe, and the United States“. As organized crime becomes more sophisticated, states have increasingly turned to specialized judicial bodies and prosecution units to confront corruption and complex criminal networks. From Brazil’s specialized prosecution structures to the United States’ inter-agency task forces and the dedicated anti-corruption prosecutors emerging across Europe, these institutions reflect broader efforts to strengthen coordination, enhance accountability, and expand state capacity. Comparing their development and performance offers key insights into how different systems adapt to evolving criminal and political challenges.
